MG Hector Petrol CVT to be launched on Feb 11

The Hector CVT is likely to be offered in the top two trim levels - Super and Sharp.

MG is set to introduce petrol CVT variants of the Hector on February 11, 2021.

We were the first to report that MG was planning to introduce a continuously variable transmission (CVT) in the Hector. Reports suggest that the CVT is likely to be offered in the top two trim levels - Super and Sharp. The Petrol CVT variants will be cheaper than the DCT variant, which will be retained.

The CVT will be offered with the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 141 BHP and 250 Nm. Hector is also available with a 1.5-litre petrol mild-hybrid and a 2.0-litre diesel engine that produces 168 BHP and 350 Nm. These engines are offered with a 6-speed manual transmission only.
