MG Gloster facelift spied with Maxus D90-inspired front end

The updated Gloster will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian in the Indian market.

The MG Gloster facelift has been caught testing yet again. The latest spy images showcase the SUV’s redesigned front end, among other exterior updates.

The 2024 MG Gloster will be based on the Maxus D90 and could adopt a similar design philosophy. The spy images reveal a heavily redesigned front fascia that has a large grille and vertically stacked headlamps. The SUV could also get a continuous LED light bar at the front.

The upcoming Gloster is expected to be longer, wider and taller than the outgoing version. The SUV has a distinct shoulder line and flared wheel arches. It gets a slightly raked rear windshield, wraparound taillights and dual exhausts.

The MG Gloster facelift is expected to be offered with the same set of engines as the outgoing version. These include a 2.0-litre diesel that puts out 161 BHP and 375 Nm and a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel that makes 215 BHP and 480 nm. Both engines are paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The updated Gloster will compete with the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian in the Indian market.
