Mercedes-Maybach has unveiled its first SUV based on the GLS.
At the front, the SUV comes with a grille with vertical slats flanked by LED headlights, a Mercedes logo on the bonnet, chrome trims at the rear and rectangular tailpipes. It has a chrome-plated B-pillar, chrome window surround, Maybach logo on the D-pillar and running boards that automatically swing out. The car rides on multi-spoke 22-inch or 23-inch alloy wheels. It measures 5,205 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width and 1,838 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,135 mm. Eight dual-tone paint schemes are offered as an option.
The SUV has a dual-tone leather interior with an optional wood trim. It has a Burmester surround sound system, two 12.3-inch screens, panoramic sunroof, massage seats, reclining rear seats and an optional AIR-BALANCE package.
The Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 is powered by a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing 550 BHP and 730 Nm and is paired to a 9-speed automatic gearbox. The car comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system and a four-wheel drive system. The 0-100 km/h time is said to be 4.9 seconds and the top speed is claimed to be 250 km/h.
