Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelift spied!

The W222 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is set to receive its facelift and a test mule has been spotted. Expected to be revealed towards the end of 2016, the new Sonderklasse receives changes on the inside and out. The prototype spotted is still in the early stages of development, so it doesn't feature the complete list of alterations expected in the car.

Visible updates include a new set of headlights and new DRLs, with tweaked bumpers and a revised front grille expected as well. Significant changes on the inside include a new three spoke steering wheel that replaces the two spoke steering on the current model, while the instrument cluster and infotainment system displays blend in a more seamless manner, with the exclusion of the buttons in between. Thankfully, Mercedes has stuck with the integrated design and not adopted a pop-out display.

Powertrain options are expected to be carried over, with changes most likely being made for improved efficiency and lowered emissions.
