Mercedes-Benz launches GLA 45 AMG in India at Rs. 69.60 lakh

German luxury carmaker, Mercedes-Benz has launched the GLA 45 AMG 4MATIC in India at a price of Rs. 69.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). With this launch the company has taken its range of AMG models in the country to eight.

The GLA 45 AMG is powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine that produces a 355 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. The company claims that this is the 'world's most powerful 4-cylinder series production engine' and can propel the car from 0 to 100 kph in 4.8 seconds and a limited top speed of 250 kph. The car has an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission and a 4MATIC all-wheel drive system.

Mercedes-Benz has made some subtle cosmetic changes to distinguish the GLA 45 AMG from the regular GLA. The AMG has more aggressive bumpers, a twin-blade radiator grille with a central three-point star, 5-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels and AMG badging. The car also gets brake calipers lacquered in red, AMG performance quad exhaust pipes, panoramic sunroof, aluminium roof rails and headlamps with LED daytime running lights.

Coming to the interior there is a 3-spoke multifunction AMG steering wheel, shift paddles, racing seats with red design seat belts, illuminated AMG door sills, and an AMG instrument cluster and a free-standing 17.8 cm Central Media Display, AMG main menu and racetimer.

Safety and drive assist feature on the GLA 45 AMG include 7 airbags, Pre-Safe, 3-stage Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and Attention Assist.
