Mercedes-Benz has announced that the brand’s EQS luxury electric sedan will have its global debut on April 15, 2021. The new Mercedes-Benz EQS is based on the brand’s Vision EQS concept first showcased back in late 2019.
The new Mercedes-Benz EQS once introduced will be the brand’s flagship model under its new ‘EQ’ range. The EQS electric sedan will also debut the brand’s latest electric vehicle architecture (EVA), which is expected on future luxury and premium models as well.
Mercedes-Benz also states that the new EQS will offer its driver and passengers a unique combination of technology, design, connectivity and functionality. This will be further simplified by the presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.
However, the most important feature on the EQS will be its dashboard, which is expected to debut the brand’s MBUX Hyperscreen. This screen comprises of three displays under a single Gorilla glass, spanning the entire length of the dashboard.
Mercedes-Benz is yet to announce the exact technical details of the electric powertrain. However, the company has confirmed that the EQS is expected to offer a maximum range of 700km, as per the WLTP cycle. The Mercedes-Benz EQS electric sedan is scheduled to go on sale internationally later this year.
