Mercedes-Benz has launched the A-Class Limousine in India. The car is available in three variants - A 200 Progressive Line, A 200d Progressive Line and A 35 AMG. All variants including the A 35 AMG will be assembled locally.
The Progressive Line trim comes with diamond-stud pattern grille with LED headlamps on either side. The AMG version comes with a sportier looking front grille and body kit. While both variants get dual-exhausts, the AMG version gets twin oval exhaust tips and AMG-style dual-tone alloy wheels. On the inside, the A 35 AMG gets a sports steering wheel, Burmester audio system, and Dinamica microfiber black upholstery.
The A 200 is powered by a 1.3-litre, turbo-petrol engine producing 161 BHP and 250 Nm. It comes paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A 2.0-litre diesel engine powers the A 200d. It produces 147 BHP and 320 Nm and is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
The A 35 AMG is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine tuned to produce 302 BHP and 400 Nm. The engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. The car is claimed to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 225 km/h.
