Maruti Suzuki has ramped up the production of the Vitara Brezza by 10% to 94,000 units during April-October 2018 compared to the same period in the year 2017. With this move, the company expects to reduce the waiting period for the car.
In 2017-18, Maruti sold more than 1.48 lakh units of the Vitara Brezza. During the first seven months of the current fiscal, the carmaker has sold 95,000 units of the compact SUV. Since its launch, over 3.57 lakh units have been sold.
Maruti launched the Vitara Brezza in March 2016 with a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine developing 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm and mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. In May 2018, the company introduced an automated manual transmission (AMT) in the Vitara Brezza.
