Maruti Vitara Brezza: 2 lakh bookings up!

The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has managed to clock 2 lakh bookings in India. The compact SUV was introduced in March last year and has thus achieved this milestone within 11 months of its launch.

Maruti is currently selling around 9,000 units of the Vitara Brezza every month. Despite being a late entrant in the compact SUV segment, the Vitara Brezza has received overwhelming response and is currently the segment leader in terms of monthly sales. The car still has a waiting period of around 4 to 5 months, depending on the variant. The Brezza has thus finally given Maruti a breakthrough in the UV market - a segment that is clearly showing signs of growth in India.

The Vitara Brezza is currently offered with only one engine option - a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that churns out 88.5 BHP and 190 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Maruti is reportedly planning to introduce a petrol variant in the near future.
