The upcoming YBA compact SUV from Maruti Suzuki has been spotted testing once again. In the latest round of spy images, the car has been seen with what could be daytime running lights or pilot lamps.
The images indicated that the daytime running lights (or pilot lamps) are simple L- shaped units, integrated in the headlamp clusters. The car is also seen with a pair of round fog lamps which are housed in the bumper.
The YBA's design is inspired by the Suzuki iV-4 concept that Suzuki displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2013. While the concept was very aggressively styled, the production version is expected to be toned down. The car measures less than 4 metres in length, making it a rival for the Ford EcoSport.
In India, the YBA is expected to be launched with the same 1.3-litre, Fiat-sourced diesel engine that is used in other Maruti vehicles. The car could also be equipped with Suzuki's SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle System) technology.
The YBA is likely to be displayed at the 2016 Auto Expo. According to media reports, it could be called the Vitara Brezza when it is launched and Maruti Suzuki could sell it through its NEXA dealership network.
