Maruti Suzuki WagonR now in "Madhavan Signature Edition"

R. Madhavan, an Indian actor, is a brand ambassador for one of Maruti Suzuki's top selling cars, the WagonR tall boy hatchback. The car maker has now released a new, special edition version of the WagonR called the Madhavan Signature Edition. The new variant of the WagonR comes at a time when the Indian festive season has commenced, a period when car sales tend to be at their yearly peak.

This year though, the Indian car industry has been grappling with slow sales amid high fuel prices, high interest rates and a weak buying sentiment due to the sluggish economy. The Madhavan Signature Edition of the WagonR is Maruti Suzuki's effort at keeping the buzz around the car alive. The new variant of the car comes with the following feature addition and cosmetic changes, 

• Kenwood 2-DIN stereo with AUX-In and USB functions
• Bluetooth Kit
• Artificial leather wrapped steering wheel and seats
• Rear parking sensors with digital display
• WagonR branded door sill guards
• Roof spoiler
• Wheel covers
• New body graphics with R. Madhavan's signature

Maruti Suzuki goes on to claim that the added features will cost the buyer only 20,000 rupees, although the value of these features total up to 32,000 rupees in the open market. Therefore, Maruti Suzuki claims that the buyer would be saving a clear 12,000 rupees on the WagonR Madhavan Edition. Also, discount vouchers worth 5,100 rupees, a 0.5 % waiver on loan interest rate and an additional discount of 45,000 rupees is what's being offered on the WagonR "Madhavan Signature Edition". 

The WagonR is powered by a 1 liter K-Series-triple cylinder petrol engine that outputs 67 Bhp-90 Nm when run on petrol. Maruti also offers this engine in LPG-petrol and CNG-petrol dual fuel guises. An 800 cc turbo diesel engine is expected to make its way into the WagonR's engine bay sometime next year. Earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki facelifted the WagonR with a slew of cosmetic upgrades and new features. Also, the StingRay variant of the WagonR was launched weeks ago. Prices of the WagonR start at 3.58 lakh rupees, ex-showroom Delhi.
