Maruti Suzuki to sell Ciaz, Ignis through NEXA network

Maruti Suzuki launched the NEXA dealership network in India in July 2015. This network was set up to sell the company's premium line-up of cars. The S-Cross was the first model to be sold through NEXA showrooms and the Baleno hatchback joined it in October 2015.

According to a media report, Maruti is planning to move the updated Ciaz sedan to NEXA dealerships from the regular dealerships. The company is also planning to sell the upcoming Ignis compact crossover through its premium chain. The Ciaz is expected to get an update soon and the Ignis is likely to be launched during the festive season of 2016.

At present there are 95 NEXA outlets in India. Maruti Suzuki plans to open 100 more outlets in the next 12 months. The company has sold 40,000 cars through this network till the end of December 2015. These include 17,000 units of the S-Cross and 23,000 units of the Baleno.

In December 2015, 11.29% of the total number of cars sold by Maruti was accounted for by cars sold though this channel against 3.39% in September. Initially, the dealership network witnessed slow sales. However, once the Baleno was introduced, sales picked up.

In 2016, Maruti Suzuki is expecting 15-17% of its total sales to come from cars sold through NEXA.
