Maruti has launched its 'premium crossover' in the Indian market today, priced between Rs. 8.34 - Rs. 13.74 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
The S-Cross is the first diesel-only Maruti to be launched in the Indian market. There is a choice of a 1.3 litre and a 1.6 litre diesel engine. The 1.3L is called the DDiS 200 and it produces 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm; it is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. The other option is a 1.6L termed as the DDiS 320, which produces 118 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 320 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm; mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The ARAI figures stand at 23.65 km/l for the DDiS 200 and 22.70 km/l for the DDiS 320.
This car is loaded with features and comes with projector headlamps with xenons, cruise control, 8" touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, leather seats, electronically adjustable ORVMs, 16" alloy wheels, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers etc.
Safety features such as dual airbags, ABS and all-wheel disc brakes are offered as standard across all variants.
This car will be available in 4 trim variants with the 1.3L engine and 3 variants with the 1.6L engine:
