Maruti Suzuki to launch S-Cross on August 5, 2015

Maruti Suzuki has announced that it will launch the S-Cross on August 5, 2015. The car will be sold and through a network of NEXA showrooms, a new brand that will sell the company's premium offerings.

Bookings for the crossover had opened earlier this month (click here to read report).

The S-Cross is built on a new platform. It measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width and 1,590 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm and a ground clearance of 180 mm. It will be available with a choice of two Fiat-sourced diesel engines:

  • DDiS 200 - 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, 89 BHP, 200 Nm, 5-speed manual transmission
  • DDiS 320 - 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder, 118 BHP, 320 Nm, 6-speed manual transmission

The S-Cross will be available in five body colours - Urban Blue, Caffeine Brown, Granite Grey, Premium Silver and Pearl Arctic White. It will come in the following variants:

  • DDiS 200 - Sigma, Sigma (O), Delta, Zeta and Alpha
  • DDiS 320 - Delta, Zeta and Alpha

Some of the features available in the Alpha variant will include cruise control, rain-sensing auto wiper, all wheel disc brakes, auto dimming IRVM, HID (High Intensity Discharge) headlamps with auto light-on function and Smartplay infotainment system with reverse parking camera.
