Suzuki has launched the new Dzire in the Philippines. The compact sedan is offered with a hybrid powertrain paired with a CVT, unlike in India.
The Philippines-spec Suzuki Dzire is powered by the new Z12E 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine. It is paired with a 12V hybrid system, featuring a 0.072 kWh battery pack that powers a 2.93 BHP electric motor. The powertrain delivers 80 BHP and 112 Nm and comes paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The electric motor, albeit tiny, is said to provide a torque boost and improve the overall fuel efficiency. That being said, Suzuki hasn’t disclosed the fuel economy figures for the Dzire Hybrid.
Design-wise, the Suzuki Dzire Hybrid is identical to the model sold in India. The car is equipped with LED headlamps, LED taillights, and 2-tone alloy wheels.
The Philippines-spec Dzire Hybrid has a two-tone interior with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a conventional instrument cluster. The car offers features such as cruise control and automatic climate control with rear AC vents but misses out on a sunroof.
The Dzire Hybrid is available in two variants: GL and GLX, with prices starting at PHP 920,000 (approx. Rs 13.9 lakh).
