Maruti Suzuki crosses the 2,000 dealer milestone

Maruti Suzuki has crossed the 2,000 dealer milestone in India, as the company now has a total of 2,007 dealerships across the country. This network has a cumulative reach of 1,643 cities and towns in India.

In order to strengthen its market dominance, Maruti has been expanding its dealer reach since the past five years. This has resulted in a network growth from 1,100 dealers in 2011-12 to 2,007 outlets in 2016-17. This means that the company has successfully managed to add around 200 dealerships in every fiscal year. The increasing number of outlets has doubled the company's reach from 800 cities in 2011-12 to 1,643 cities in 2016-17.

The company is now aiming to further expand its entire network to touch the 4,000 mark by 2020. This will include the Maruti outlets, the NEXA dealership chain, the upcoming commercial vehicle outlets and Maruti's True Value used car dealers.
