According to a media report, Maruti's Future-S based micro-SUV (codenamed: Y1K) is likely to be called S-Presso. It is expected to be launched sometime during this festive season.
The Future-S Concept was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Spy images suggest that the S-Presso could feature similar styling with a high stance and upright front fascia. It could get wraparound headlamps and rectangular tail lamp clusters. Inside, it is expected to get a touchscreen infotainment system among other features. The car has reportedly been designed and engineered in India with support from Suzuki Motor, Japan.
Reports suggest that the S-Presso could be offered with a 1.0-litre petrol engine paired with an automated manual transmission (AMT). It will also get all the mandatory safety features like ABS, airbags and rear parking sensors.
The Maruti S-Presso will compete with the Renault Kwid in the Indian market. It has been reported that the car could be sold through Maruti's Arena outlets.
