A test mule of the Ertiga Tour M was recently spotted somewhere near Delhi-NCR. It is rumoured to be testing a BS6-compliant diesel engine.
The Tour M variant of the Ertiga is exclusively for taxi / fleet operators. The test car appears similar to the model currently listed for sale. However, the DDiS badge on the front fender has been removed, which indicates that it might have a BS6-compliant diesel engine under the bonnet.
The Ertiga was offered with a 1.5-litre diesel engine until the BS6-emission regulations came into effect. This engine produced 94 BHP and 225 Nm and was offered with a 6-speed manual transmission.
At present, the MPV is available with a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 103 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm @ 4,400 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
