Maruti Baleno RS spotted in production-spec guise

Maruti Suzuki is expected to launch the Baleno RS in India on March 3, 2017. Ahead of its official introduction, a production-spec model of the hatchback has been spotted without any camouflage. The images offer a look into all minor cosmetic tweaks made to the performance-oriented Baleno.

The images reveal that the production-spec Baleno RS will largely remain similar to the concept that was showcased at last year's Auto Expo in Greater Noida. As compared to the regular Baleno, the RS model comes with a new mesh-style grille and restyled front bumper that now houses a wider air dam and larger fog lamps. The bumper also gets a new lip on the lower section.

The side profile remains identical to the regular Baleno, save for the blacked out alloy wheels and side skirts. At the back, the car gets a larger roof mounted spoiler, new rear bumper with a larger blacked out area and the RS badge on the right side of the tailgate.

Maruti will be debuting its new 1.0-litre BoosterJet petrol engine with the Baleno RS. This engine develops 101 BHP and 150 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
