Mahindra Thar 5-door could get a dual-pane sunroof

Higher variants of the Thar Armada might get a first-in-segment dual-pane sunroof.

A test mule of the Mahindra Thar 5-door has been spotted testing once again. The latest spy image reveals a feature that has been seen on a Thar 5-door prototype for the first time – a dual-pane sunroof.

The Thar 5-door, which is likely to be called the Thar Armada, could be offered with two sunroof options. While lower variants will get a single-pane sunroof, higher variants might get a first-in-segment dual-pane sunroof.

Besides this, the Thar Armada is also expected to get diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED headlamps and taillights. Inside, the ladder-frame SUV is expected to get features such as electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, reading lamps for rear passengers, a 10.25-inch touchscreen paired with a 9-speaker Harman-Kardon audio system, a digital instrument cluster and an auto-dimming IRVM.

The Thar Armada will be offered with the same set of engines as the standard model. These include a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel engine paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Reports suggest that an entry-level 1.5-litre diesel engine will also be on offer.

The Thar Armada is likely to be launched on August 15, 2024.
