Mahindra has introduced a new entry-level variant of the Scorpio called the S3+. With the addition of the new variant, the base price of the Scorpio has dropped by Rs. 50,000. It costs Rs. 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Scorpio S3+ misses out on features such as alloy wheels, auto-door locks, bottle and cup holders, central locking, side and rear foot step, central lamp, rear demister and one-touch lane indicator.
Mahindra is offering the base Scorpio in 7, 8 and 9-seat configurations.
The base Scorpio is powered by the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. However, it puts out 118 BHP and 280 Nm, which is 20 BHP and 40 Nm less than the higher variants. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
