Mahindra Group inaugurates electric 2-wheeler facility in USA

The Mahindra Group has inaugurated the Mahindra GenZe electric two-wheeler facility at Ann Arbor in Michigan, USA. The facility has the capacity to assemble 9,000 vehicles per year. If there is a need, this capacity can be increased to 20,000 vehicles per year.

Mahindra also took the opportunity to unveil the GenZe electric two-wheeler which is designed, engineered and manufactured in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is aimed at students and urban commuters and does not need a motorcycle licence to be operated in most states of the US. The bike has a top speed of 30 mph (48 kph), a range of 30 miles (48 km) and features the ability to charge anywhere on the go.

Also inaugurated, was the Mahindra North American Technical Center in Troy, Michigan. The Center provides the infrastructure to design vehicles, engineer expertise, prototyping capabilities and solutions for Mahindra' global customer base. It can accommodate 125 engineers.
