Lower variants of the Tata Nexon spied

The XE and XT variants of the upcoming Tata Nexon has been spotted. The spy images reveal the features that are likely to be offered on the base and mid-trim.

We already know that the Tata Nexon gets a floating, 6.5-inch touchscreen, 16-inch alloy wheels and projector headlights with LED DRLs among other features in the top-spec XZ+ variant. However, Tata Motors is yet to reveal the other variants of the crossover along with the features that are likely to be offered.

The spy images indicate that the XE variant, which is likely to base variant, gets black mirrors and door handles, steel wheels with wheel covers. It does not get roof rails, projector headlamps, fog lamps, rear parking sensors, climate control with rear air-conditioning vents and steering mounted audio controls. The 6.5-inch touchscreen, 8-speaker audio system and engine start/stop button are not likely to be available on this variant either.

The XT, which is likely to be the mid-variant, will miss out on some of the features available in the XZ+ trim. The spy shots reveal the dashboard of the Nexon without the floating, 6.5-inch touchscreen. A monochrome display replaces the touchscreen infotainment system.

The interior materials are expected to be the same across all variants. These include the dual-tone dashboard with chrome accents, along with bits like the piano black trim on the centre console and steering wheel.

The Tata Nexon will be available with a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.2-litre petrol engine - both producing 108 BHP. Initially, both engines will be available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. An AMT version is expected to be introduced at a later date.
