KTM dealers start accepting bookings for next-gen RC series

Dealers are asking anywhere between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 10,000 as the booking amount.

According to a media report, KTM dealers have started accepting bookings for next-gen RC 200 and RC 390. Since the bookings have not been opened officially by KTM, dealers are asking anywhere between Rs. 1,000 and Rs. 10,000 as the booking amount. The bikes are expected to be launched in July or August this year.

The dealers will take bookings against the current-gen RC 200 and RC 390. After the next-gen bikes are launched, these bookings will be either transferred to the new models or cancelled.

Earlier this week, the next generation KTM RC 390 was spotted completely undisguised. The bike gets a redesigned fairing featuring a new colour scheme, a narrow tail section and a stepped seat. It also gets a redesigned chassis with a bolt-on sub-frame, twin projector headlamps, clip-on handlebars and a single side-mounted exhaust. The bike features an upside-down fork suspension at the front and a monoshock at the rear with redesigned wheels and disc brakes. The RC 390 could also get a TFT screen and a quickshifter.

The new RC 390 is expected to be powered by the same 373.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine as the current model. This unit produces 42 BHP and 35 Nm and is mated to a 6-speed transmission via a slipper clutch.
