KTM 390 Adventure confirmed for India

KTM has finally confirmed that it will be bringing the 390 Adventure motorcycle to India. The announcement was made while addressing media queries during the recent launch of the 2017 RC 390 and RC 200.

The 390 Adventure will be the entry-level model in KTM's Adventure range of bikes. The Austrian bike maker has been testing prototypes of the bike overseas, while the design was finalized recently. Like all other smaller capacity KTM bikes, the 390 Adventure will be manufactured at the Bajaj Auto plant at Chakan. It will also be exported to global markets from India.

Built on the same platform that underpins the new-gen Duke 390, the 390 Adventure will use the same 373.2 cc engine. However, KTM is likely to tune the power plant a bit differently in order to suit needs of the adventure biking enthusiasts. As a result, the 390 Adventure is expected to get a higher torque output.Other major elements expected on the bike include a long travel suspension, disc brakes at the front as well as rear, ride by wire throttle and ABS.

KTM hasn't mentioned any specific launch window for the 390 Adventure. However, the bike is expected to make its world debut at the 2017 EICMA show in Milan, while an Indian launch is likely to take place sometime next year.
