Kia Syros launched at Rs 9 lakh

The Kia Syros is available in four trims: HTK, HTK+. HTX and HTX+.

The Kia Syros made its global debut in December last year. The carmaker has now announced the prices of its latest compact SUV for the Indian market.

The Kia Syros is available in four trims: HTK, HTK+. HTX and HTX+ with prices ranging from Rs 8,99,900, and Rs 16,99,900 (ex-showroom).

The Kia Syros is based on a reinforced K1 platform and has a boxy design with vertically stacked LED headlamps and L-shaped LED taillights. It has thick B-pillars, roof rails, and retractable door handles; while the flared wheel arches house a set of two-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, the Syros promises space comparable to SUVs from a higher segment. It even gets sliding and reclining rear seats and segment-first ventilated front and rear seats. The dashboard design is modern and simple, with horizontal air-con vents, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The Syros also gets a new design flat-bottom steering wheel.

Other features offered on the Syros include a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, a rear sunshade, ambient lighting, rear AC vents, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, and connected car features with remote window ventilation.

It also gets Level 2 ADAS with safety features such as Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Front Collision Warning with Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Follow Assist, a 360-degree camera, ESC, Hill Start Assist Control, 6 airbags, and ABS.

The Kia Syros is available with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit that produces 118 BHP and 172 Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. Customers can also opt for a 1.5-litre diesel that puts out 114 BHP and 250 Nm. This engine is offered with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic.

The Syros comes in 8 exterior colours: Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Pewter Olive, Intense Red, Frost Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue and Gravity Gray.
