Kerala bans kids on bike fuel tanks and scooter floor boards

The Kerala Motor Vehicles Department has banned kids from traveling on the fuel tanks of motorbikes or on the floor boards of scooters. The ban came into place after the Kerala MVD received instructions from the Commission For Protection Of Child Rights.

It is extremely dangerous for kids to travel on the fuel tank of bikes or on the floor boards of scooters. They can easily fall off the vehicle in case of an emergency maneuver or hard braking due to a lack of grab handles or foot pegs. Only two people should ride on a two-wheeler and they should be sitting on the designated seats only.
