The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT and Wrangler Unlimited have been showcased at a customer preview in India.
At the event, Jeep displayed the Grand Cherokee SRT, which is powered by a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 petrol engine that puts out around 469 BHP. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle comes with paddle shifters and a four-wheel drive system.
The Wrangler Unlimited is powered by a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine that develops 281 BHP and 353 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual transmission.
Jeep is planning to showcase its entire line-up of vehicles at the upcoming 2016 Auto Expo. The company is expected to bring the Grand Cherokee and Wrangler Unlimited to India through the CBU route.
Initially, the company is likely to sell its vehicles through Fiat dealerships. Later, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is planning to set up a separate dealership network for Jeep.
