Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Petrol launched at Rs. 75.15 lakh

Jeep India has launched the petrol variant of the Grand Cherokee at a price of Rs.75.15 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The Grand Cherokee Summit Petrol will be brought in India as a CBU (Completely Built Up) unit.

Apart from the SRT, the Grand Cherokee is offered in a base Limited and top-spec Summit trim. The 3.6-litre, Pentastar V6 petrol engine will only be available on the Summit variant. It produces 286 BHP and 347 Nm of peak torque and is mated to a single-clutch 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The electro-hydraulic power steering has been replaced with an electric power steering system and comes with three driving modes - Normal, Comfort and Sport.

The Grand Cherokee Summit Petrol comes with some new features and an updated front fascia. While, all-wheel drive is standard, the petrol variant gets a revised front grille finish and ParkSense rear park assist system. Ventilated, heated and electrically adjustable driver and passenger seats, 8.4-inch touchscreen display and 7-inch digital instrument cluster, GPS navigation are standard across the Summit trim. Jeep has also added air suspension and LED fog lamps to be standard on the Summit trim.

The Grand Cherokee range is available in six color options - Velvet Red, Diamond Black Crystal, Bright White, True Blue Pearl, Granite Crystal Pearl and Billet Silver Metallic. The former two are the new color options introduced.

This is the third Jeep SUV in India to be offered with a petrol engine. The company also announced new prices across the range. The Grand Cherokee Limited Diesel is now priced at Rs. 75.15 lakh and the Summit Diesel at Rs. 85.15 lakh. The flagship Grand Cherokee SRT model, with a 6.4-litre HEMI V8 making 470 BHP, is priced Rs. 1.07 Crore. The Wrangler Unlimited Diesel is now priced at Rs. 64.45 lakh, while the price of Wrangler Unlimited Petrol remains unchanged at Rs. 56 lakh. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom New Delhi.
