The Toyota Raize sub-4m compact SUV has been unveiled in Japan. The car is based on the DNGA platform.
The SUV measures 3,995 mm in length and 1,695 mm in width. At the front, it gets LED headlights, a trapezoidal grille with DRLs and fog lamps on either side. At the rear, it gets wraparound tail lights with a black bar connecting them and a dual-tone bumper with reflectors. The SUV also comes with ORVMs with integrated turn signals, plastic cladding along the wheel arches and door sills, chrome door handles, body-coloured C-pillar, and a shark fin antenna. It rides on 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. A black roof is also available as an option with some colour options.
The Raize gets an all-black interior with a silver trim and red accents. It gets a 3-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9.0-inch touchscreen head-unit with Apple Car Play. Boot space is rated at 369 litres.
The SUV is powered by a 1.0-litre turbocharged engine paired to a CVT transmission. Four-wheel drive is available as an option on all the variants. Toyota claims a fuel efficiency of 18.6 km/l for the front-wheel drive variants and 17.4 km/l for four-wheel drive variants, according to the WLTC test cycles.
The Raize is equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control, Smart Panorama Parking Assist with image and steering assistance, Collision Warning Function and Crash Avoidance Braking Function as well as Erroneous Start Prevention Function.
