Isuzu MU-X spotted in India without any camouflage

The Isuzu MU-X has been spotted in India without any camouflage. The SUV is expected to be launched in the country on April 11, 2017.

The MU-X borrows most of its design elements from the D-Max V-Cross, especially at the front. The SUV gets a large, dual-slat chrome grille, swept-back headlight assemblies with projector setups, black cladding on the lower part of the bumper and LED DRL strips around the fog lamp housings. The side profile is characterized by beefed up wheel arches, 17-inch alloy wheels, prominent roof rails and chromed ORVM caps and door handles. The rear gets wraparound, twin section tail lamps, chrome detailing above the number plate housing and a roof mounted spoiler.

The interior layout is also inspired from the D-Max V-cross. The SUV comes with an all-black cabin layout. Features visible in the spy shots include a touchscreen infotainment system and steering mounted audio controls.

Media reports suggest that the India-spec MU-X will be powered by a 3.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine. Initially, the MU-X is likely to come in 4x4 MT and AT variants, while 4x2 versions are expected to be launched at a later date. A smaller, 1.9-litre engine could also be introduced later in the year.

The MU-X will be a competitor for the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
