I checked with the Service advisor and they say that the average is 12 KMPL and after test drive the technician told that the car is giving 14KMPL, I am a little confused

Hi All,

This is my first post in this loved forum.

Finally, after much deliberation I purchased Honda Elevate VX MT at Capital Honda Chennai, thanks to the detailed review posts that helped me decide on the options that were available.

Here is my point of view after driving for around 800 kms.

Spacious cabin, practicality has been the plus, no Electrically adjustable seats or Panaromic Sunroof, 360 deg cam but the features which have been given are very much impressive and it is good practically.

The engine is very smooth, though Noise insulation could have been better. At times we can hear the engine revv and outside noise very evidently. But it was a pleasure driving. NOTE: I am not an enthusiastic driver, more of a city drive, and linear acceleration is quite OK for me.

Drive Comfort - Excellent - the suspension is neither too soft nor very hard, I felt it is just right, and with the potholed roads in my neighborhood not much of impact is felt while driving. It easily takes you over small and shallow potholes. The highlight is the view from the cabin, I can easily see the edges and push in small gaps without issues. Driver seat and rear seats are very good lot of leg room and headroom. The clutch is a little deep is what I feel. Gear shifts are very very smooth the notches are very carefully designed and can easily shift upwards/downwards.The middle seat in the rear has a little bump so it makes it difficult for 3 adults to be seated at the rear. 2 Adults and 1 child can sit a little comfortably on short trips. Honda could have moved the rear vent a little to the front which would have given the middle passenger a little more space. This is a little annoying at times when you have to move your leg.

Reverse and Lane watch camera - a good value for money. I am more of a mirror-watching driver (old school) so getting used to the cam. But the cam quality is OK.

Mileage - a little disappointed, I get around 10 in the city, and I haven't taken the car on long trips. Though I am a sedate driver, I don't understand why is the mileage this low. I checked with the Service advisor and they say that the average is 12 KMPL after a test drive the technician told me that the car is giving 14KMPL, and I am a little confused. Maybe someone can throw some light on what I might be doing wrong.

Overall - Quite happy with the car, a very good buy for the price they offer, Plus HONDA after-sales support. As I mentioned earlier I like the practicality which was considered by Honda in terms of providing the features.
