Indonesia: Datsun Cross officially revealed

Datsun has unveiled the new Cross - a crossover based on the Go+. The Datsun Cross will initially be sold in Indonesia.

The overall length of the Datsun Cross is identical to the Go+. However, it is wider and taller than the latter. It measures 1,670 mm in width and 1,560 mm in height. The wheelbase is unchanged at 2,450 mm but ground clearance has increased from 170 mm on the Go+ to 200 mm.

While the Datsun Cross has a similar side profile as the Go+, it has a unique front end. The large honeycomb grille has a chrome frame and is flanked by new automatic projector headlights with integrated U-shaped LED DRLs. Circular fog lamps are positioned just under the headlamps. It gets a dual-tone front bumper with silver trim and scuff plate. The Cross also gets black and silver side cladding and roof rails. It gets blacked-out B and C pillars and ORVMs with integrated turn signals. The rear features a dual-tone spoiler and a new bumper with a silver scuff plate and a chrome exhaust tip. The Cross rides on new design 15-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the Datsun Cross comes with 7 seats and a redesigned dashboard. The centre console has a chrome border and houses a 6.75-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The 3-spoke steering wheel, door handles and circular air-conditioning vents also get chrome trim.

The Cross uses the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine as the Go+. This unit is offered with a choice of 5-speed manual or CVT transmission. The engine produces 67 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 104 Nm of torque @ 4,000 rpm on the 5-speed manual variant and 76 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 105 Nm of torque @ 4,400 rpm on the CVT version.

The Datsun Cross comes with safety features like driver and passenger airbags, ABS, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and parking sensors. Datsun currently has no plans to launch the Cross in India.
