Kia Motors has revealed details of the India-spec Carnival MPV. It will be launched at the 2020 Auto Expo.
The Kia Carnival will be offered in three variants - Premium, Prestige and Limousine. Customers can opt for either 7, 8 or 9 seat configuration. The 7 seater version comes with either 4 captain seats and 3 sinking seats or a second row VIP seat. The 8 seater and 9 seater cars get 4 captain seats and 6 captain seats respectively.
Some of the features that will be offered on the Carnival include dual panel electric sunroof, VIP seats with 10.1-inch dual touchscreen rear seat entertainment, one-touch power sliding door and power tailgate among others.
The base Premium trim will come with 18-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels, chrome door handles, rear spoiler with LED high-mounted stop lamp, rear chrome garnish, electrically adjustable ORVM and auto headlight control.
The Premium trim will be offered in 7-seat or 8-seat configurations. The MPV will come equipped with a touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, 4 speakers and 2 tweeters and a multi-function steering wheel. It will come with a rear view camera, 3.5-inch MID, cruise control, Smart Key with engine start/stop button, tilt and telescopic steering, and power windows with auto down for driver's window.
It will have safety features such as dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear disc brakes, ISOFIX and rear parking sensors.
The Prestige trim will come with chrome inserts on the front grille, LED projector automatic headlamps with LED position lamps, LED fog lamps, LED tail lights, roof rails, chrome window surrounds, power tailgate, UV cut front door glass and windshield.
The Prestige variant will come in 7-seat or 9-seat options. The car will also get a dual-panel electric sunroof, interior LED lights, sunshade curtains, pop-up sinking seats and sliding seats. It also comes with a 220V laptop charger and electrically folding ORVMs.
In addition to the aforementioned safety features, the Prestige variant will get ESC, Hill Assist Control, roll-over mitigation and cornering brake control, side and curtain airbags and front parking sensors.
The top-spec Limousine trim will be available in a 7-seat configuration with second row Luxury VIP seats with leg support, Nappa leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, wood trim, 18-inch Sputtering finish alloy wheels and tyre pressure monitoring system.
On the inside, the touchscreen infotainment head-unit will have built-in navigation and UVO Connected Car features, Harman Kardon 8-speaker audio system and 10.1-inch dual touchscreen rear seat entertainment. It will also get Smart Pure Air Purifier with perfume diffuser, electronic parking brake, 10-way power driver seat, driver seat ventilation, wireless charger and auto antiglare IRVM with UVO Controls and smartwatch connectivity.
In India, the Kia Carnival will be offered with a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine. It produces 197 BHP @ 3,800 rpm and 440 Nm @ 1,500-2,750 rpm. The engine will be paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
