Honda is gearing up to launch the tenth generation Civic in India sometime in March 2019. But, details about the engine options and features have already surfaced online.
Reports suggest that the new Civic is likely to be offered with LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs and will ride on 17-inch alloy wheels. It could get dual-tone interiors with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, powered sunroof, 8-way adjustable driver's seat, rain sensing wipers and engine start/stop button among other features. It has been reported that Honda might offer safety features like lane-keeping assist, 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, Agile Handling Assist, hill start assist, ISOFIX child safety seat anchors and a rear-view camera on the new Civic.
The new Civic measures 4,656 mm in length, 1,799 mm in width and 1,433 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,700 mm and is likely to come equipped with a 47-litre fuel tank. The car is expected to be offered with a 1.8-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that makes 139 BHP @ 6,500 rpm and 174 Nm @ 4,300 rpm and a 1.6-litre diesel unit that produces 118 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 2,000 rpm. The petrol engine will reportedly be offered with a 7-speed CVT, while the diesel could get a 6-speed manual transmission.
