KTM created quite a stir in the Indian entry level sports bike segment with the Duke 390. The Austrian motorcycle maker then launched the fully faired RC 390 this year. KTM will now launch both these made in India motorcycles in the USA.
Both motorcycles are produced exclusively in India at Bajaj's plant in Chakan, Pune. The Duke 390 and RC 390 are powered by the same engine. A 373.2cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine that produces 42.9 bhp of power at 9000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. Transmission duties are carried out by a 6-speed manual gearbox. Both models get dual disc brakes and ABS.
The motorcycles will be exported in the same specification as they are sold in India. Sales in the USA will begin in 2015. Prices for the Duke 390 begin at $4,999, while the RC 390 is priced at $5,499. Apart from the 390 duo, KTM will also launch the 1290 Super Adventure at a price of $20,499.
