India-bound Hyundai Creta facelift caught testing

The Creta facelift is expected to be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. However, reports suggest that it could get mild-hybrid tech.

The Hyundai Creta is set to get a facelift sometime next year. But, prototypes of the updated model are already out on the streets.

The spy images suggest that the Creta will get a brand new front end. It still has the same stacked headlamp set up as the current model, but with a slightly different layout. The biggest talking point of the love-or-hate design of the Creta was its grille. It too is likely to be updated.

Looking at these images, it is unclear if Hyundai will make any updates to the rear end of the Creta. The crossover could receive a few changes to the interior though. It is believed that the new model could receive autonomous driving tech in the future as well.

Coming to the powertrain options, the Creta facelift is expected to be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. However, reports suggest that it could get mild-hybrid tech this time around.

In India, the second generation Creta is available with three engine options. These include a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine producing 113 BHP and 144 Nm, a 1.4-litre turbo-petrol that makes 138 BHP and 242 Nm and a 1.5-litre diesel engine that puts out 113 BHP and 250 Nm. The petrol engines are available with a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCT and a CVT, while the diesel engine comes with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

The exact timeline for the launch of the Creta facelift in India is still unknown.
