India-bound BYD Seal EV awarded 5-stars by Euro NCAP

The BYD Seal is likely to be launched in the Indian market sometime next year.

The BYD Seal electric sedan has scored 5 stars in Euro NCAP crash tests. The car secured 89% for adult occupant safety and 87% for child occupant protection.

The BYD Seal offered good protection to the driver, adequate protection to the chest and legs, and good head protection to the passenger in the frontal impact test. The car was also subjected to lateral impact tests. It showed good protection in the side mobile barrier and side pole tests.

The Seal electric sedan offered good protection to all critical body areas of both child dummies in the frontal offset and side barrier tests.

The BYD Seal was showcased at the Auto Expo 2023. As per the latest reports, the car is likely to be launched in the Indian market sometime next year.

The Seal comes with two battery options – a 61.4 kWh battery offering a range of 550 km and an 82.5 kWh battery that has a claimed range of 700 km on a single charge.
