Hyundai Creta spied inside out

Earlier this week, the upcoming Hyundai Creta compact SUV was spotted undisguised. Now more images of the vehicle have surfaced on the internet.

The Creta's design is based on Hyundai's evolved Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. The car gets a hexagonal radiator grille with three horizontal slats, projector headlamps, silver accents above the headlamps, LED day-time running rights and boxy fog lamps, silver skid plates at the front and rear, black body cladding and blackened A and B-pillars.

Other features include silver roof rails, black cladding along the bumpers, wheel arches and skirting, body coloured door handles, turn signal integrated ORVMs, a chrome applique above the rear number plate housing and a stubby radio aerial. The top-of-the-line variant gets chrome lining on the windows and tail lamps, chrome door handles, chrome inserts on the bumpers and a shark fin antenna.

On the inside, the Creta gets a dual-tone black and beige dashboard with silver accents, multi-function steering wheel, climate control, LCD display for the infotainment system and fabric seats. The dual tone scheme continues on the door pads and the door handles are finished in chrome. The car has a 6-speed manual gearbox. The top of the line variant gets a start/stop button, touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, USB and Aux-in connectivity, navigation and reversing camera and an automatic transmission.

The Creta will be available as a 5-seater only and will measure 4.27 metres in length, which will prevent it from being eligible for the lower excise duty rates that sub-4 metre cars enjoy. It is likely to ride on 17-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle is likely to use the same 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines and manual and automatic transmissions that do duty in the Verna sedan.
