Husqvarna to launch Vitpilen 401, Svartpilen 401 by end-2020

KTM 390 Duke rivaling Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 could be launched by year end.

According to media reports, Husqvarna is planning to launch the Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 in India by the end of this year.

The Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 are based on the KTM Duke 390. The Vitpilen 401 is a cafe-racer styled bike featuring clip-on handle bars. The Svartpilen 401 is Scrambler type bike featuring raised handle bars for a more upright riding posture. Both bikes ride on wire-spoke wheels shod with dual purpose tyres.

The Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 will be powered by the 373.2 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine from the KTM 390 Duke. This engine produces 43 BHP and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox via an anti-hopping clutch. The bikes will compete with the likes of the Bajaj Dominar 400 and BMW G 310 R in the Indian market.

Husqvarna also offers the Vitpilen and Svartpilen with a 250cc engine. The bikes are priced from Rs. 1.80 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
