Honda recalls CBR 150R, CBR 250R to fix starter relay switch

Honda has recalled 13,700 units of the CBR 150R and CBR 250R motorcycles in India to check and replace a faulty relay switch. Bikes manufactured between July 2014 and June 2015 are a part of this recall.

Incorrect application of the sealant during the assembly of the starter relay switch can increase resistance across the main fuse. This can cause an interrupt in the motorcycle’s battery voltage to the electrical system. This can result in the engine not starting or stalling. In extreme conditions, the increased resistance at the main fuse could cause the starter relay to catch fire.

Honda will replace the affected part will free of cost in the identified units irrespective of the warranty status of the vehicle. The company claims that it will contact the customers of the affected motorcycles.
