Honda has launched the Cliq scooter In India at a price of Rs. 42,499 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter is manufactured at Honda's factory in Tapukara in the Alwar District of Rajasthan. Starting with Rajasthan, it will be made available for sale across India in a stage wise manner.
The Cliq has a unisex design and measures 1,745 mm in length, 695 mm in width and 1,039 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,241 mm, a ground clearance of 154 mm and a seat height of 743 mm. The scooter has spring loaded hydraulic suspension all round and weighs 102 kg. It is available in four colours - Patriot Red, Moroccan Blue, Orcus Grey and Black.
The Cliq is powered by a 109.19cc, fan-cooled, four-stroke, single-cylinder engine that puts out 8 BHP @ 7,000 rpm and 8.94 Nm of torque @ 5,500 rpm. This is the same engine that does the duty in the Activa-i. The BS-IV compliant engine is mated to a V-matic continuously variable transmission (CVT). The bike comes with a self & kick starter, maintenance-free battery, viscous air filter, 10-inch wheels, 90/100-10 53J tubeless tyres with a block pattern, which Honda claims are a first in the industry.
Braking duties are taken care of by 130 mm drums on both wheels. The scooter is equipped with Honda's combi brake system (CBS) with equalizer technology.
Other features of the Cliq include a wide flat floorboard, automatic headlight on, underseat storage with mobile charging socket and a rear-mounted load carrier. The scooter has a fuel tank capacity of 3.5 litres.
