Updated Honda Jazz spied undisguised

First uncamouflaged images of the Honda Jazz facelift have surfaced online. The spy images indicate that the new Jazz will only receive minor updates, unlike the refreshed model sold in international markets. The international-spec car gets styling changes that result in a length of more than 4 metres, which could be the reason why Honda isn't offering it in India.

The India-spec Jazz retains its dual-tone front end featuring gloss black trim with a silver highlight on the grille. The headlamp clusters are identical to the outgoing model and so is the front bumper with its inverted V-shaped air-dam and circular fog lights. The car's rear profile remains unchanged. It gets vertical tail lights that extend onto the C-pillar. The car comes with chrome door handles, ORVMs with integrated turn-indicators and 5-spoke alloy wheels.

Like the exterior, the interiors haven't changed either. The dashboard layout is identical to the current Jazz. The centre console is finished in piano black trim and houses a touchscreen infotainment system. It features a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel, which now has buttons on both sides of the hub. The 3-pod instrument cluster also appears to have been carried over unchanged. Honda has added a few new features like engine start/stop button, cruise control, power tail gate, front centre armrest and an updated infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support.

According to recent leaks, the new Jazz is likely to be offered in two petrol and three diesel variants. It is expected to come with the same 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engines as the current model. A 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard on both engines, while the petrol version will get the option of a CVT.

The new Honda Jazz is expected to be launched on July 19, 2018.
