Honda India starts exports of Brio facelift to South Africa

Honda Car India has started production of the facelifted Brio hatchback. The car is being exported to South Africa, where it was launched earlier this month.

At the front, there is a wider grille with a thick horizontal black slat in the middle and a chrome strip that runs along its base. The bumper has been redesigned with a honeycomb mesh grille and new fog lamp housings.

At the rear, the car gets a redesigned pair of tail lamps, a new spoiler with an integrated stop lamp and a rear windshield washer/wiper.

On the inside, the Brio gets a new black dashboard with silver inserts and a redesigned centre console similar to that of the BR-V, which was launched in India earlier this month. There is a new 2-DIN audio system and a climate control unit as well.

The refreshed Brio is powered by the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine as the outgoing model. The unit produces 87 BHP and 109 Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. An automatic transmission is also on offer.

Honda is likely to launch the Brio facelift in India later this year.
