Honda is set to hike the prices of all its models from August 2021. The carmaker hasn't revealed the quantum of the price hike yet, but it's expected to vary depending on the model.
Like most carmakers, Honda has had to raise the prices of its products due to rising input costs. Rajesh Goel, Senior VP and Director, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India has stated that the prices of raw materials like steel, aluminium and precious metals have increased sharply and many of them are at an all-time high, impacting the company's input costs significantly.
This year, Honda had hiked the prices of its cars on two previous occasions - first in January and then again in April, which makes this the third price hike in just 7 months.
Maruti Suzuki has also announced that it would increase the prices of its products in Q2 of FY2022. More carmakers could follow.
