Honda BR-V records 10,000 bookings within 2 months

Honda BR-V, the newest crossover in the Indian market, has managed to touch the 10,000 units booking mark in less than 2 months. The BR-V was launched in India on May 5, 2016.

Mr. Yoichiro Ueno, President & CEO, Honda Cars India, has claimed that there has been an equal demand of petrol and diesel variants of the BR-V. This shows that the Indian market is slowly drifting towards petrol-powered cars, as the crossover segment till now was dominated by diesel engines. Mr. Ueno also pointed that the company has received bookings from a diverse range of customer age groups.

The Honda BR-V in India comes with two engine options; a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol developing 117 BHP and 145 Nm of torque, and a 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel that churns out 98 BHP and a peak torque of 200 Nm. The diesel engine comes mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the petrol variants have an option of a CVT automatic gearbox which can be operated with paddle shifters.

The Honda BR-V is currently offered in 9 variants, with prices placed in the range of Rs. 8.75 lakh – 12.9 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
