Honda is likely to introduce a new variant of its popular scooter offering called the 'Activa Smart' on January 23, details of which, have leaked via a Type Approval Certificate.
The Activa Smart is expected to be a new top-of-the-line variant in the Activa range. As per the document, the new scooter is powered by a 109.51cc, single-cylinder engine that makes 7.73 BHP, which is slightly more than the standard version. The gross vehicle weight has also gone down by 1 kg.
Reports suggest that the Activa Smart could be equipped with Honda’s H-Smart anti-theft system, which is said to be similar to the Honda Ignition Security System (HISS) offered on the brand’s premium offerings like the CB650R, CBR650R, CRF1100L Africa Twin, etc.
If that is the case, then we might see the anti-theft tech trickle down to other models in Honda’s line-up in the near future.
