Hero developing 4 premium bikes; to be sold via separate outlets

The new range of bikes would be divided into two main categories – Core Premium and Upper Premium.

Hero MotoCorp is working on a range of premium motorcycles. Reports suggest four models are currently being developed. These would be divided into two main categories – Core Premium and Upper Premium.

The 'Core Premium' category is expected to include a fully-faired model, which is likely to be the upcoming Karizma XMR and a streetfighter, while the 'Upper Premium' category will include the upcoming Harley-Davidson X440 and another streetfighter.

Hero MotoCorp plans to set up a separate retail channel for its premium range. The bike maker has stated that it will have over 100 such outlets over the next year.

Recent patent filings suggest Hero could be working on a new maxi-scooter as well. However, whether it will be part of its premium line-up remains to be seen.
