GM launches updated Chevrolet Sail hatchback and sedan

General Motors India has launched the Sail hatchback and sedan with some updates. While the hatchback is priced between Rs. 4.41 and Rs. 6.81 lakh, the sedan is priced between Rs. 5.19 and Rs. 7.64 lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi).

Changes to the exteriors include a new design for the alloy wheels, chrome surrounds for the fog lamp housing, chrome strip on the boot lid and blackened B-pillars. The SAIL is available in six exterior colours - Velvet Red (sedan only), Super Red (hatchback only), Switchblade Silver, Summit White, Caviar Black, Linen Beige and Sandrift Grey.

The interiors of the cars feature a dual-tone black and beige colour scheme, a black steering wheel with a golden bowtie logo and new 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth connectivity, which supports up to five phone pairings and music streaming. The AC vents and HVAC control knobs get chrome surrounds while door handles and the gear shifter get silver surrounds.

Safety and security features include dual airbags, ABS and EBD, engine immobilizer, central door locking, speed-sensitive automatic door locks and remote keyless entry.

There are no mechanical changes to the Sail twins. They continue with the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, 83 bhp petrol and 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, 74 bhp diesel engines as before. Both engines come with a 5-speed manual transmission.
