Fraud: Paid for Isuzu V-Cross, but didn't get the car!

Mr. Tapaswi had paid Viraaj Isuzu, Pune (M/s. Sai Sakshi Auto World Pvt. Ltd.) Rs. 15.30 lakh for an Isuzu V-Cross in early August 2017, but he is yet to receive the car. The dealership shut down in November and the customer is pursuing the matter through a case filed in the Consumer Court.

The car was booked in his brother's name and according to the dealership, he would get the car in two days after the payment was received in full, including the loan amount from the bank. However, due to unexplained delays, the delivery date was postponed time and time again.

According to an email from the head of the dealership, they had promised to deliver the vehicle by August 25, 2017 and bear one EMI as well due to the delay. However, this has not been done. In September 2017, Isuzu India published a notice in the Times of India, declaring that the said dealership is no longer authorized to sell its vehicles.

Emails sent to the company officials remained unanswered. The first hearing of the Consumer Court was on December 20, 2017. The dealer's representative did not turn up and Isuzu claimed that they should be excused from the case as the deal was between the dealership and the customer.
